Two people were transported to hospitals Friday morning after a two-vehicle, head-on accident in the 1500 block of Mercer Road (Route 65).

North Sewickley police said the accident took place just after 8 a.m.
One driver was transported to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh. Police were unable to confirm where the second driver was taken for treatment, but they said neither person's injuries were life-threatening.

Because of the accident, Mercer Road remained closed in both directions for about 70 minutes between Chapel and Country Club drives.
