Bozeman, MT : Man dies after fatal Norris Road crash on Highway 84 in Madison County Wednesday afternoon on September 17, 2014
One man is dead after a head-on crash that closed Norris road west of Bozeman for most of Wednesday afternoon.
A little before 11 a.m., a car traveling west on Highway 84 in Madison County crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a semi truck that was headed east.
The force of the collision flipped the car onto its roof where it came to a stop next to the semi. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Montana Highway Patrol said the semi driver had no apparent injuries but was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Norris road was closed and traffic was re-routed for several hours while crews worked to clean oil off of the roadway.
Troopers said the driver of the car was not wearing a seatbelt.
The name of man killed has not yet been released and it isn't apparent if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, but investigators with MHP told us they suspect the car driver was going too fast around the curve.
