La Crosse, WI : Man seriously injured in Monroe County crash on Thursday, September 21st 2017

A Florida man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a deer struck by an oncoming car flew into his windshield Thursday evening in the Monroe County town of Lincoln, according to the sheriff’s department.

Eric Vaughn and Lyndarae Vaughn, both 57 and of Bangor, hit the deer while driving north on Hwy. O about 7:30 p.m. The animal then hit the windshield of a van traveling south driven by Samuel Garcia, 69, of Hialeah, Fla., according to the sheriff’s department.

Garcia was flown to Gundersen Health System. His passenger, 48-year-old Jose Diaz of Chicago, was not injured.
