Perry County, IL: Man killed in Perry County wreck on Friday, July 24th 2015

A wreck that happened on Illinois Route 154 Friday morning claimed the life of a Du Bois, Illinois, man, according to Illinois State Police.ISP said the wreck, which happened a half mile east of U.S. 51 in Perry County, killed 75-year-old Alan Bowers.State police said Bowers was driving a farm tractor when a tractor-trailer hit it. The impact threw him onto the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.Troopers say the driver of the semi, 47-year-old Samuel R. Latham of Rockford, Illinois, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
