Two cruisers from the Whiteville Police Department collided in Columbus County Saturday around 7:30 p.m.
According to Highway Patrol, the crash happened on the U.S. 701 Bypass near the San Juan's restaurant.
One of the officers, Sgt. Jennifer Popynick, was pinned inside the car and the door had to be taken off to get her out of the car. She was taken to the hospital but has non-life-threatening injuries.
The other officer, Corporal Stephen Strickland, was taken to the hospital also, as routine, but had very little injuries. Both were treated and released the same night.
It is unclear how the accident happened. Highway Patrol is investigating.
