Tucson, AZ : Seven seriously injured in crash on Tucson's southeast side on Thursday, July 21, 2016

A two-vehicle crash Thursday on Tucson's southeast side sent seven people to the hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

One of the vehicles involved was a Sun Van, according to a Pima County Sheriff's Department tweet.

Paramedics of the Rural/Metro Fire Department responded to the scene at 7700 E. Valencia Road, east of South Kolb Road and treated and transported the injured.

Firefighters used cutting tools to remove the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, according to a Rural/Metro Facebook post. The use of seatbelts lessened the injuries, authorities said.
