Lehigh Acres, FL : Three-vehicle head-on crash on State Road 82 and Gun Club Road in Lehigh Acres on Thursday, 26th March, 2020

Florida Highway Patrol troopers were on the scene Thursday morning of a three-vehicle head-on crash on State Road 82 and Gun Club Road in Lehigh Acres.

Acquimene Louis XVI, 52, of Lehigh Acres, was driving westbound on SR 82 in a construction zone when he attempted to improperly pass traffic in a no passing zone, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

Louis drove westbound in the eastbound lane while attempting to pass vehicles and struck Kendra Rivera, 18, of Clearwater, head-on.

Martray Harris, 26, of Clearwater, was a passenger in Rivera's vehicle.

After the initial crash, Louis' vehicle rotated and struck Holly Christiano, 53, of Fort Myers who was driving behind Louis in an unmarked Lee County Sheriff's Office vehicle. Christiano was not injured.

Both Rivera and Harris sustained serious injuries and Louis' injuries are critical, the release states.

Charges are pending and all three injured were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Drivers were cautioned to avoid the area if possible.
