Madeira Beach, FL : 20-year-old Emma Keown died in hit and run accident on Gulf Blvd. in Madeira Beach on Friday, May 8, 2015

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit and run crash in Madeira Beach in which a female was struck and killed while with a group of friends on skateboards on Gulf Blvd.

All lanes on Gulf Blvd. in the area of 129th Ave. have since reopened.

Pinellas County spokesperson says the victim, identified as 20-year-old Emma Keown of Clermont, was struck by a black pickup truck on Gulf Blvd. around 1:42 a.m. Witnesses tell deputies the driver stopped for a brief time, but did not exit the truck and continued driving north on Gulf Blvd.

Keown was taken to a hospital where she died.

The truck is described as black pickup truck, possibly Dodge Dakota or Ram, with a lit pizza delivery sign on top. The driver of the truck is described as white male in his late 20's with dark bushy hair.
