An Albany man escaped injury but wound up under arrest after he overshot a Northway exit and drove down an embankment early Saturday, police said.

Kyle Styczynski, 26, had gotten off the highway at Exit 24, and was unable to stop at the intersection with county Route 11, resulting in his vehicle crossing the road, going through guardrails and down a 10-foot embankment around 1 a.m., according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's officers determined Styczynski was intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent, authorities said. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and released pending prosecution in Bolton Town Court.

Sheriff's Patrol Officer Matt Fish investigated the crash.
