Vacaville, CA : Two people killed in a traffic collision on eastbound Interstate 80 west of Lagoon Valley Road early Sunday, May 1, 2016
Two people were killed early morning in a traffic collision on eastbound Interstate 80 west of Lagoon Valley Road in Vacaville.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 28-year-old unidentified female, who was driving a 2001 Honda Accord while allegedly intoxicated, allowed her car to drift onto the right shoulder, where it collided with a parked 2016 Jeep SUV. Three passengers were inside the Jeep, while the Jeep’s driver was standing outside the vehicle on the passenger side. The driver had apparently pulled over to the shoulder and stopped for several minutes because they were feeling ill.
Upon impact, the crash spun the Jeep, fatally injuring a 53-year-old female seated in the right rear passenger side of the Jeep. Authorities didn’t release the name of the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency crews spent approximately 20 minutes to remove the Honda’s driver, who suffered major internal bleeding and was transported to Kaiser Vacaville, where she was also pronounced dead. Her name was not released.
The Jeep’s other occupants, Fabiola Torres, 25, Adolfo Rincon, 28, and Patricia Rincon, 36, all suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported to Northhbay Medical Center in Fairfield.
