Phoenix, AZ : Three people seriously injured after 5-vehicle wreck in Peoria on Friday morning, November 11, 2016

Three people were seriously injured in a five-vehicle crash late Friday morning at 70th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Peoria, according to the Peoria Fire-Medical Department.

Six others were treated, according to Tim Eiden, Peoria Fire-Medical Department spokesman.

The injuries of the most seriously hurt people were not considered life-threatening, Eiden said. Two others also were transported to hospitals with minor injuries, Eiden said.

A 2-year-old girl was transported with her father, but she was uninjured, he said.

Peoria police were investigating the causes of the crash.

Thunderbird Road was closed in both directions and was expected to remain closed for a few hours, Eiden said.
