LEVERING, MI : A Levering man has died in a one-vehicle traffic crash on Tuesday, May 30, 2017

A Levering man has died in a one-vehicle traffic crash in Cheboygan County early today, Tuesday.

In a news release issued around 10:30 a.m. today, the Cheboygan County Sheriff's Office identified the deceased man as Brian Goode, 59, of Levering.

Sheriff's office officials said the crash was reported at 5:37 a.m. on Heilman near near Brandau Road in Cheboygan County's Munro Township.

Sheriff's deputies reported that the investigation revealed Goode was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup north on Heilman Road when the vehicle veered across the centerline and ran off the roadway striking a tree.

"At this time it is believed Mr. Goode suffered a medical crisis causing the accident. The accident remains under investigation," authorities said in the release.

Assisting on scene was Cheboygan Life Support Systems and the Inverness Township Fire department.
