AMHERST, MA : 1 killed in Amherst crash involving car, pedestrian on Tuesday, December 20th 2016
Amherst Police said one person died after a car struck a pedestrian Tuesday evening.
The accident occurred at about 6 p.m. on Hunters Hill Circle. Sgt. Brian Johnson couldn’t say whether the pedestrian or the driver of the vehicle was the person killed. He said no one was arrested following the crash. “There was a pedestrian versus motor vehicle accident that did result in a death,” he said.
Johnson couldn’t give the name of the victim and referred further questions to the Northwestern district attorney’s office. District attorney spokeswoman Mary Carey said she hadn’t yet heard any details on the incident.
Amherst Police also called State Police, which sent an accident reconstruction team to the scene, said Lt. Brian Gladu.
