Orland, CA : Woman dies in crash on Interstate 5 in Glenn County on Monday, 19th March 2018
A Redding woman was killed Monday morning on Interstate 5 north of Orland when she rolled her vehicle and crashed into a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said in a press release Tuesday that at 7:39 a.m. Monday, Ginger Joann Fox, 57, was northbound in the left of I-5 north of Glenn County Road 7.
She drifted onto the left gravel shoulder, and made an abrupt correction to the right that took her across both northbound lanes of the freeway, according to the CHP.
Her 2002 Toyota 4Runner rolled over when it hit the gravel on the right shoulder and struck a tree.
Fox, who the CHP said was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.
The CHP said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.
