Akron, OH : 54-year-old woman killed in NE Ohio after car crashes into truck parked on interstate berm on Saturday, December 27, 2014

Authorities say a 54-year-old woman has died after her car struck a pickup truck parked alongside an interstate outside of Akron.

The victim has been identified as Denise McNerney of the Cleveland suburb of Mayfield Heights.

The Ohio Highway State Patrol says McNerney was driving south on Interstate 77 near Richfield Township around 10:20 p.m. Saturday when her SUV hit a truck that had pulled off the roadway because of mechanical problems. A 58-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman from Maryland who were inside the truck were treated for minor injuries.

McNerney died at a hospital. The highway patrol is investigating
