MT. VERNON, IL : One injured in I-64 crash on Wednesday, August 9, 2017

A Columbia man was taken to Crossroads Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after he struck a car on Interstate 64 near the 70 mile marker Wednesday morning.

According to accident reports, 33-year-old Regina L. Dillard was driving a 2016 Chevrolet eastbound on the Interstate, approaching milepost 70 when he hit the rear of a 2014 Toyota Rav 4 which was disabled in the left lane due to a prior crash involving a deer.

The occupants of the Toyota were not inside it when the crash happened.

Dillard was ticketed for driving under the influence of alcohol.
