Billings, MT : Wyoming man dies in car crash near Douglas on Monday, 19th March 2018
A Wyoming man died early Monday morning after his pickup rolled into the path of a tractor trailer.
Jason Havard, 31, of Wheatland, was driving south on icy Interstate 25 near Douglas shortly before 2 a.m. when he lost control of his Dodge Ram and drove into the median, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. The Dodge rolled over onto the northbound lane and into the path of a semi truck.
The tractor trailer was not able to avoid the pickup and struck the vehicle, the highway patrol wrote.
Havard died in an ambulance on the way to Memorial Hospital of Converse County.
Keith Cunningham, 55, of Wellington, Colorado, was driving the tractor trailer. He was not injured in the crash.
Fourteen people have died on Wyoming highways this year. By the same day last year, 19 people had died.
Havard was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
