Monessen, PA : Two children suffered minor injuries and two adults were hospitalized in a crash on Tuesday, 17th April 2018
Two children suffered minor injuries and two adults were hospitalized in a crash involving a Pittsburgh Public Schools bus Tuesday night, officials said.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., a vehicle crashed into a school bus carrying six students in grades K-5 home from Pittsburgh Montessori School, district spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said.
"A car hit the bus on the side," Pugh said.
The crash happened at Sunrise Avenue and Robinson Boulevard near the border of Pittsburgh's East Hills and Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County spokeswoman Amie Downs said.
Two adults and six students were on the bus, and the adults were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, Downs said.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
"Medics are on the scene and police are on the scene, and we're trying to reach parents," Pugh said shortly before 6 p.m.
None of the children were taken to a hospital, but two reported minor injuries, Pugh said.
