Davis, CA : 26-year-old truck driver died in fatal crash Interstate 80 on Friday October 2 2015

A truck driver died Friday night when a Honda Accord hit him along Interstate 80 outside Davis.
The 26-year-old Honda driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release.No other information about the truck driver was released.
The crash happened about 6 p.m. on westbound I-80 near Mace Boulevard. CHP said the Honda driver veered off the road in order to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of her.
The Honda then swerved onto the right shoulder and hit the truck driver, who was standing at the back of the big rig. The truck driver died instantly, CHP said. It is unknown why the driver was standing outside and at the truck's rear.
Investigators don’t believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
