KOKOMO, IN : 3 dead following head-on crash on Indiana 22 near Kokomo on Thursday 25th October 2018

Officials said three people have died following a head-on crash in central Indiana.

The Howard County sheriff's office said an SUV heading westbound apparently crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound pickup truck Thursday afternoon on Indiana 22 near Kokomo. The sheriff's office said all three occupants of the vehicles died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 56-year-old Brando Wheeler of Kokomo. The sheriff's office said the driver of the truck was 82-year-old Ronald Fortner of Kokomo and his passenger was 85-year-old Donald Wright of Kokomo.

The cause of the crash was under investigation Friday. The sheriff's office said autopsies are scheduled for both drivers Saturday.
