De Ridder, LA : Starks man dies in head-on collision on Saturday, 24th September 2016

A Starks man was killed and two other people were injured following a crash this morning about 6 miles north of Starks.

A Starks man died Saturday when his vehicle was struck head-on by another.

State Police said Jonathan Shane Says, 41, was driving his pickup south on La. 109 when a pickup driven by Trey Jones, 22, also of Starks crossed the centerline and hit Says’ truck head-on.

Troopers said the accident happened shortly after 6 a.m. A passenger in Says’ truck receive moderate injuries, troopers said, and Jones was seriously injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

A day earlier, a Texas man died in a single vehicle accident on La. 109.
