Kansas City, MO : Motorcycle officer in hospital after struck by a vehicle Monday March 7 2016

A KCPD motorcycle officer has been transported to the hospital with a broken leg after being struck by a vehicle early Monday morning.
The crash happened in the 400 block of Hardesty Ave. in KCMO just after 6:30 a.m.
Police say the officer is conscious and alert after being thrown from his motorcycle and onto the hood of the vehicle. The officer has "considerable" injuries, according to KCPD.
The driver of the car is cooperating with the investigation.
Police are unsure how fast the driver was going at the time of the accident. The speed limit in that area is 25 mph.
