West Jordan, UT : One man critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on Redwood Road early Friday morning, January 8, 2016
A man was critically injured in a two-vehicle collision that shut down Redwood Road in both directions Friday morning.
At 6:45 a.m., a white pickup was heading north on Redwood Road when it collided with a red passenger vehicle near 8400 S. Redwood Road, according to West Jordan police officer Scott List. The impact caused the truck to roll onto its side.
The 26-year-old driver of the passenger vehicle was critically injured and taken to an area hospital, police said.
The 41-year-old driver of the second vehicle denied medical care and was apparently uninjured, according to List.
Police were unsure if the passenger vehicle had come out of a neighborhood street or was struck while navigating a U-turn. Police are still investigating the factors that led to the crash, but said there are no indications that drugs, alcohol or weather played a role in the crash.
Redwood Road was closed in both directions near 8400 South.
