Passenger injured in Fort Ann wreck in Marlboro New Jersey
A New Jersey resident was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital Saturday with a possible broken back after a crash on Route 149 in Washington County, sheriff's deputies said.
The accident happened when Marjan Z. Zaman, 21, of Marlboro, N.J., was driving east on the highway when he fell asleep and struck a car head-on in the opposite lane driven by Derrick S. Davey, 55, of Saratoga Springs, deputies said.
Davey and a passenger were taken to Glens Falls Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in Zaman's car, Karishma L. Smart, 22, of Chatham N.J. was taken to the hospital with cuts to the face and a possible broken back. Zaman, who was not injured, was ticketed on a charge of failure to use a designated lane, deputies said.
Fire and emergency medical personnel from Fort Ann and Fort Edward assisted deputies.
