Logan, W.V : Two critically injured in an All Terrain Vehicle crash on County Route 16 in the area of Lorado on Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016

Logan County Sheriff Sonya M. Dingess Porter reports that two individuals were critically injured in an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash Wednesday evening.

According to the press release, the Sheriff’s Department responded to crash that occurred west bound on County Route 16 in the area of Lorado at approximately 5:48 p.m.

Investigating officer, Cpl. J.L. Mathis reports that the 2009 Yamaha ATV left a 21 foot skid mark from one tire and began to roll. The ATV rolled several times, coming to a rest on the south side of roadway. It appeared as the ATV began to roll that both the driver, who was identified as Samuel Smith of Lorado, and the passenger, who was found to be Brooke Lusk, also of Lorado, was ejected from the ATV.

According to Sheriff Porter, both individuals sustained critical injuries and were flown by helicopter to CAMC General for medical treatment. Both were listed in critical condition at the time of the press release.

The investigation into the crash is still on going. Cpl. Mathis was assisted by Cpl. T.R. Brumfield in the investigation.
