Deptford Township, N.J : Man surrenders in fatal-hit-and-run accident in southern New Jersey on Sunday, September 7, 2014

A southern New Jersey man has surrendered to authorities in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident. Gloucester County prosecutors say 24-year-old Brian Kowasa of Runnemede turned himself in early Monday to Deptford Township police. He posted $10,000 bail after being charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Authorities say a pickup truck driven by Kowasa struck 52-year-old Richard McClelland of Mantua Township shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. An autopsy conducted Monday determined that McClelland died from multiple injuries.
