San Francisco, California
A hit-and-run crash that injured a motorist on the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge on Friday morning was followed by an unsuccessful hourlong search for suspects in Foster City, authorities said.
The two-car crash was reported on westbound state Highway 92 at 5:12 a.m. when the driver of a 1988 Toyota crashed into a 1986 Porsche, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver of the Porsche complained of back pain and was taken to a hospital.
The driver of the Toyota and other occupants dumped the car on East Third Avenue in Foster City, police said. The Toyota was later determined to have been stolen out of Redwood City on Thursday.
Officers searched for the driver of the Toyota and other occupants of the car near the marina area and at nearby hotels, but no arrests were made.
