3-vehicle crash in southbound lanes of Interstate 91
A three-vehicle crash, attributed to icy conditions in the southbound lanes of Interstate 91, snarled Wednesday morning commuter traffic, state police said.
Two people, including the driver of a tractor trailer truck that jackknifed near Exit 36, were taken to Hartford Hospital for evaluation, Trooper Kelly Grant said.
The crash occurred shortly before 3 a.m. when a vehicle, traveling south in the left lane, lost control due to icy conditions. A tractor trailer hit that vehicle and then a third vehicle hit the tractor trailer, Grant said.
State police tweeted shortly after 8 a.m. that the scene has been cleared.
