Lansing , MI : Three people were killed in three traffic crashes in Michigan on Tuesda morning, December 2nd 2014
Three people were killed in three traffic crashes in Michigan during the Thanksgiving weekend, according to Michigan State Police.
State police say that's a significant decrease from the 12 deaths caused by 11 crashes during the 2013 Thanksgiving weekend.
One of the three people killed this year was a pedestrian. The other was a driver and the third was a passenger. Alcohol was a factor in one of the crashes, state police say.
"These numbers, which reflect those fatalities reported to the MSP as of 9 a.m. today, represent a 75 percent reduction in traffic fatalities from this same five-day period last year,” said Capt. Kari Kusmierz, commander of the MSP Training Division, in a statement.
"We are thankful for this reduction in fatalities, but even one traffic death is too many."
