Wasilla, AL :2-car crash in Wasilla hospitalizes 5 people on Thursday, July 9th 2015
Five people were sent to the hospital Thursday night in a two-car collision in Wasilla, Alaska State Troopers wrote in a dispatch Friday. According to troopers, the
crash took place around 10:30 p.m. when 17-year-old Phillip D. Flowerdew of Wasilla was driving southbound on E Fairview Loop in his 2005 Scion and "he lost control,
crossed the centerline, and collided with a brown 2012 Nissan Maxima traveling in the opposite direction."The Nissan was being driven by 47-year-old Stacey Hecker of
Wasilla and carried two passengers in the car.Hecker's husband, Todd, told Channel 2 News that his wife was driving with his parents in the car when the other car lost
control and hit the Nissan that then swerved off and hit a pole."Lucky that's one of the one's that's got a guide wire on to support it, otherwise it might have come
down," Todd Hecker said of the splintered pole.Troopers say that five people from the Scion were sent to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with injuries but none of the
occupants of the Nissan were injured.Both vehicles were totaled in the crash and investigations are ongoing.
