Volusia County, FL : Pedestrian killed in a fatal crash near Interstate 95 in Volusia County on Wednesday night, January 21, 2015

A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night in a crash near Interstate 95 in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash shut down all northbound lanes of U.S. 1 near I-95.

Authorities said a pedestrian was trying to cross the road, and was not in a crosswalk or intersection when struck by a car.

Troopers are still working to identify the pedestrian.

The crash remains under investigation.
