Stuttgart, AR : One dead in a one-vehicle accident in Arkansas County Wednesday afternoon, February 22, 2017

A one-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon has left one dead in Arkansas County.

According to the Arkansas State Police Preliminary Fatal Crash Summary, the accident occurred at 3:37 p.m. on Highway 146 on mile marker 10.77.
Mathew Meins, 35, of stuttgart, was driving the vehicle and was injured in the crash that left the 2016 Toyota on fire. Meins was transferred to Baptist Health Medical Center-Stuttgart. No further details on his injures were available as of press time.
The ASP is reporting the passenger who was killed in the wreck is still pending a positive identification, which is why the name is not being released at this time.
"Any other information on the (passenger) is unknown, due to the ID not being known," Elizabeth Chapman, with the ASP, said explaining why the report does not show that the next of kin as being marked (or notified).
"The area is blank, I'm sure due to unknown positive ID," she said.
The body is being held at Turpin Funeral Home at this time.
The weather and road conditions were listed as dry and clear. The driver was traveling eastbound on Highway 146 and left the south side of the roadway striking a tree. After impact the vehicle burned.

"Still pending investigation," the report lists in the "what happened portion of the report.
The investigating ASP Trooper is D. Roam Badge No. 563.
