Sparks, NV : Two people injured after collision, car fire on N. McCarran Boulevard in Sparks on Wednesday night, Sep 30, 2015

Two people were taken to a hospital with what were considered non-life-threatening injuries after a two-car crash on N. McCarran Boulevard in Sparks late Wednesday night.

The collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at McCarran and Sullivan Lane. Emergency personnel were on scene to help extinguish a fire in one vehicle.

Part of North McCarran was closed at Sullivan as authorities responded to the scene.

Slick roads might have been a factor, but Sparks police officers who were at the scene said the investigation was still early.

Police said they also suspected one of the drivers was possibly impaired at the time of the collision, though that could not immediately be confirmed.
