Pedestrian died and another was injured when they were hit by a vehicle in Forest Grove

Forest Grove police say one pedestrian died and another was injured when they were hit by a vehicle in Forest Grove Wednesday morning.

The crash happened in front of Joseph Gale elementary school near Maple Street and 18th Avenue.

Forest Grove Fire said the two victims are adults. Students at Joseph Gale had a late start Wednesday.

It's unclear what caused the crash. Police said the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

Initial reports from Forest Grove Fire were that the crash involved a bicyclist, but they later said the person who died was walking when they were struck.

The injured victim was a taken to a hospital with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

The names of the victims have not been released.
