King George, VA : Charles County sheriff's officer dies in crash on Route 218 in King George on Sunday, December 21, 2014
The Charles County Sheriff's Office says one of their patrolmen has died in a single-vehicle car crash in Virginia.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office says 30-year-old Patrolman First Class Jamel Clagett was driving home after working the midnight shift when his car left the roadway and struck a tree. The sheriff's office says it happened on Route 218 in King George, Virginia. The sheriff's office says he died instantly.
Clagett was a 10-year veteran of the sheriff's office. Sheriff Troy Berry said in a statement that Clagett was known for his kindness and after he worked the overnight shift he bought breakfast Sunday at a local restaurant and dropped it off for the midnight communications staff.
