WEST POINT, MS : Woman dies in Clay County crash on Monday,16th April 2018
A 52-year-old former Clay County resident who had moved to Weir in Choctaw County died when her car drifted into oncoming traffic and crashed into a pickup truck on a bridge Monday.
Clay County Coroner Alvin Carter identified the victim as 52-year-old Sandra Dee Lollar, who lived at Rabun Road in Weir.
She was eastbound on Waverly Road in a 2009 Ford Mustang when she drifted into the westbound lane and struck a 2018 Ford F-150.
The crash occurred about 11:30 a.m. Monday on a bridge over Spring Creek about 500 feet west of where Melton Bottom and Matthews Gin roads intersect with Waverly Road.
Lollar, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, Carter said.
The couple in the pickup were treated at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point.
