LOUISVILLE, KY : Three people are dead after a crash on Saturday, July 1, 2017
Kentucky State Police say three people are dead after a crash that happened Saturday night in Nelson County.
According to a news release, KSP troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash at the 18 mile marker on the Bluegrass Parkway just before 11:30 p.m.
Authorities say 22-year-old Daniel Guerrero Jr., of Upton, was traveling west in a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. Police say two juveniles, a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old male were also inside the vehicle.
Officials say for unknown reasons, the car spun out of control, went off the road and hit a rock wall.
The teen passengers were pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner. The Coroner's office has identified one teen as 17-year-old Hugo Gurrero. The identity of the female passenger has not yet been released.
According to police, Daniel Guerrero was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to U of L Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The westbound lanes of the Bluegrass Parkway were shut down for about five hours.
The crash is still under investigation.
