Seguin, TX : 49-year-old Ricardo A. Miranda dies in collision on Kingsbury Street on Tuesday morning, June 21, 2016

A Seguin man on his way to work was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning.

Just before 6 a.m., 49-year-old Ricardo A. Miranda was heading to Tyson Food Inc., where he worked, when his truck left the road, struck a concrete barrier and hit a light pole, Seguin Police Sgt. Rusty Suarez said.
“He was traveling westbound on Kingsbury Street when he left the roadway, about 150 yards prior to the intersection of Kingsbury and Hildago, and hit the concert barrier,” he said.

After hitting the roadblock, the truck apparently went airborne and hit an metal light pole, Suarez said.
“He was pinned inside the truck by the light pole,” he said.

Seguin firefighters worked quickly to cut Miranda from the truck, Suarez said.

Once he was extricated, Miranda was taken to Guadalupe Regional Medical Center where he later died, Suarez said.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation, Suarez said.
“We don’t know at this time what caused him to go off the road,” he said.
