Barton County, KS : Nickerson man hurt in Barton County crash on US-56 about a half-mile east of the Great Bend city on Thursday, 30th January, 2020
A Nickerson man was injured in a three-car rear-end collision Thursday night east of Great Bend.
According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, the crash on US-56 about a half-mile east of the Great Bend city limits occurred at 5:35 p.m. when a vehicle was stopped to make a left turn.
An eastbound 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Heather Ward, of Great Bend, was stopped to make a turn and another vehicle, a 2015 Nissan Ultima driven by James Misunas of Nickerson, stopped behind her.
A third eastbound vehicle, a 2018 Dodge 2500 pickup truck driven by Robert Weeks, of Claflin, didn’t see the other vehicles had stopped and collided with Misunas’ vehicle, causing a chain reaction crash.
