Oregon State Police rescued a man who had been trapped after a crash on Highway 26 for at least an hour before someone saw his car.
Police said the crash happened near milepost 36 east of the Washington and Tillamook County Line.
When emergency crews arrived they found a 1995 Ford Explorer about 20 feet off the roadway.
The driver, Henri P. Stephenson, 66, of Ocean Park, Washington was trapped in the car. Crews were able to extract Stephenson and was taken by air ambulance to OHSU for serious injuries.
Police said an investigation revealed was traveling eastbound on HWY 26 when he drifted off the road, crashed through thick vegetation and then came to a rest. Stephenson was trapped in his car for at least an hour before a passing car spotted him.
According to police, fatigue is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
