DAVENPORT, IA : Driver dies after single-vehicle crash on Bridge Avenue Davenport on Wednesday, 6th March 2024

A man died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon, Davenport police said.

Davenport police, fire and Medic EMS responded at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday to the 1700 block of Bridge Avenue.

Police said the initial investigation indicated a car was northbound on Bridge Avenue when it crossed the center line, traveled through a yard, and came to stop after hitting an embankment.

The driver, a 67-year-old man, was the sole occupant of the car. Police said he was taken by Medic EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Davenport Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash. No other information was released.
