Orange County, CA: Sheriff's deputy car heavily damaged in crash on Tuesday, July 28th 2015

An Orange County Sheriff’s Department car was heavily damaged in a crash with another vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Stanton.Reports from the scene show that a Toyota Camry driven by a woman was damaged in the front and the deputy shariff car’s back window was broken out and back left side was badly damaged.The crash was reported at 12:31 p.m. near the intersection of Dale and Monroe avenues, said Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.The drivers of both cars complained of pain but neither were hospitalized.Authorities closed down the northbound lanes of Dale Avenue at Monroe for the investigation.The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.The afternoon crash was the second collision involving a sheriff’s deputy vehicle on Tuesday. Around 6:30 a.m. a deputy motorcycle crashed with a car on the freeway transition in Yorba Linda. The deputy was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
