Steele County, MN : Man injured in a one-vehicle accidents on Interstate 35 south of Owatonna early Monday afternoon, February 22, 2016

An Owatonna man was injured early Monday afternoon in a crash in Steele County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Matthew Chandler, 31, was driving a Chevy Tahoe northbound on Interstate 35 at 12:37 p.m. when he lost control and hit the center median before coming to rest in the ditch near milepost 37 south of Owatonna.

The State Patrol said Chandler, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to the Owatonna Hospital, part of Allina Health. His injuries were reported not life threatening.

Road conditions were listed as dry and there was no hazardous material at the site of the crash. No alcohol was detected, the report said.

The Owatonna Fire Department, Gold Cross and Steele County Sheriff’s Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
