Guntersville, AL : One dead after Marshall County chase ends in crash at Pleasant Grove Road and Pleasant Grove Cutoff Road on Thursday, 23rd April, 2020

Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims said a chase early Thursday morning ended in a fatal crash at Pleasant Grove Road and Pleasant Grove Cutoff Road in Guntersville.

Deputies were in pursuit of a vehicle that had been reported stolen moments earlier in Albertville.

The driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed at the intersection, resulting in the fatality.

Assistant Chief Deputy Steve Gutherie identified the subject as Michael Braden Hobbs of Albertville.

Sims said in a Facebook post at about 6 a.m., that the road would be blocked in the area for a few hours, and asked motorists to avoid the area.

Albertville, Guntersville and Douglas police were on the scene, along with the Guntersville Fire Department and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
