Beverly, MA : 19-year-old Rockport woman hurt in rotary crash faces charges on Tuesday August 30, 2016
A 19-year-old Rockport woman who crashed her car onto the Blackburn Circle rotary early Tuesday morning was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital, but was not seriously injured, according to police.
Olivia Keating of 16 School St. was transported by the Fire Department’s ambulance squad to the hospital with what were descried as “several scratches,” according to the report from Officer Christopher Liacos.
She is facing charges in connection with the crash of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.
Liacos reported he was on patrol when he saw the lights of the car in the middle of the Blackburn Circle island at 1:06 a.m., and found the vehicle resting on its roof, with Keating outside “staggering around (and) covered in blood.”
After calling for an ambulance, Liacos told Keating to sit down and await its arrival. In speaking with him, Keating told the officer that she had been heading northbound on the Route 128 Extension between Grant and Blackburn circles and going “way too fast.” But all she could tell police about the crash, according to Liacos’s report, was that she “woke up in bushes” on the rotary island.
