Redding, CA : 47-year-old man injured after being hit by car on Sunday, April 19, 2015

A 47-year-old man was in critical condition Sunday at Mercy Medical Center after being hit by a car.

Redding police said officers responded around 2:15 p.m. to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision.

The investigation showed that the pedestrian, Wren Kelly Barker of Coalinga, was walking backwards on the shoulder of eastbound Parkview Avenue then walked into the lane and into the path of a car driven by Allen Lee Walsh, 34 years of Redding.

The collision is still under investigation.
