Delaware County, OH : Teen dead in one-vehicle crash in Berlin Township on Thursday, May 26, 2016
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a person is dead after crashing into a tree just outside the city limits of Delaware.
According to the Delaware post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:40pm on Berlin Station Road in Berlin Township.
Investigators said James Harshall Hindes, 19 of Lewis Center was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima west on Berlin Station Rd. when he went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and then drove off the left side of the road. His car struck a fence, overturned and struck several trees.
Hindes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said Hindes was not wearing a seat belt at the the time of the crash and that alcohol/drug use is suspected.
The crash remains under investigation.
