Fresno, CA : Caruthers man identified as car crash victim on Wednesday, 14th September 2016

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Thursday released the name of a man killed in a car crash Wednesday night at Mountain View and Cornelia avenues northwest of Caruthers. He is Joga Singh Dhaliwal, 68, of Caruthers.

The California Highway Patrol reported Friday afternoon that Dhaliwah was driving a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria east on Mountain View Avenue when he failed to stop at the Cornelia Avenue stop sign and was struck in the intersection by a 2006 Nissan Titan being driven south on Cornelia by Elsa Baez, 26, of Caruthers. Baez was injured and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said.
