Frederick, MD : One Person Killed In Four-Vehicle Crash On Rt. 140 near Four Points Bridge Road on Wednesday morning, August 27, 2014

An Emmitsburg man was killed in a crash Wednesday morning. Kyle Etzler, 25, was pronounced dead after his Honda Accord struck three vehicles along Route 140 west of Four Points Bridge Road in Emmitsburg. State Police say Etzler was traveling eastbound on Route 140 when he came upon slow traffic due to another vehicle making a right turn into a private driveway. Etlzer was unable to slow down and struck the rear of a Toyota Camry operated by Alexandra Mort, 24, of Fairfield, Pa. The Honda Accord entered the westbound lanes of Route 140 where it struck a Peterbilt tanker truck operated by Jesse Sager, 29, of Annville, Pa. It then went back to the eastbound lanes and hit a Chevy Van driven by Paul Auman, 46, of Chambersburg, Pa. No one else was injured. State Police say Route 140 was closed for several hours while troopers conducted their investigation. Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
