Las Vegas, NV : Scooter rider killed in collision on Russell Road near Redwood Street on Saturday, July 23, 2016

A man riding a scooter was killed in what Las Vegas police believe was a drunk-driving related hit-and-run.

Authorities say the incident happened Saturday just after 10:30 p.m. on Russell Road near Redwood Street.

According to investigators, a Toyota Sequoia rear-ended a Tao Tao Scooter, pushing the rider and scooter more than 175 feet.

They say the rider came to rest in the roadway, where he was hit by a second vehicle.

The second vehicle, which is described as a Nissan Sentra, left the scene.

The scooter rider was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Toyota, 19-year-old Adrian Arriaga-Andrade, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.

Police are asking anyone with information about the second vehicle to come forward.
